As part of his current role at Mastercard, he oversees the building of the single front door for humans and machines that is secure, local and provides exceptional experience for Mastercard’s customers. Along with that, he also leads teams for shared services that will increase organizational agility and security, reduce costs of implementing change and reduce time to market for all Mastercard Products.
His vision for the team is to lead Mastercard through a demonstration of exceptional lean product management and modern engineering practices.
He has over 22 years of experience working in technical roles across industries and domains including PayPal, Samsung, GE, and HP (Hewlett Packard). Prior to joining Mastercard, for the last five years, his focus has been on helping PayPal converge towards a modern growth platform.
With a master’s degree in IT (Information Technology), Varun has researched autonomous systems from the University of Exeter and Loughborough. Born and raised in India, Varun has been a resident of the UK (United Kingdom) since 2004. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, spending time with his family, collecting fun hats and reading.
